IFAA Teams
We rely on the cooperation of five main teams to maintain the high level of service that we provide to our clients. Service is at the heart of our business and providing all of our client services in-house, rather than outsourcing, ensures that our culture permeates through everything we do. Financial Services
The Financial Services team is currently responsible for the accounting and statutory lodgements for 10 entities. Management accounts, budgets, investment reporting and cash control are all part of Financial Services' responsibilities.
IFAA recognises that financial controls are paramount to the accuracy and security of the accounting function and assets under administration. With this in mind we have well defined roles and responsibilities, strict separation of duties and stringent authorising processes.
To achieve these controls we use the award winning Great Plains accounting software which has been customised to provide all aspects of the accounting function including customised reporting in accordance with accounting standards.
The Finance team continually strive for improved accuracy, efficiency and flexibility to meet our internal and external clients goals.
Information Technology Services
Information Technology Services is divided into two teams:
IT Operations
IT Operations oversees the maintenance of the IFAA proprietary Fund Administration Systems and the maintenance of all in-house computer systems and hardware. This includes each client's member and employer data base and the Employer Online and Member Online services. The on-line service allows employers to make contributions, add new members, allows members to check their member statements and account balance and update their contact details.
IT Operations also administers the Superannuation Calculator – a unique piece of software that estimates the personal superannuation outlook for a member.
IT Development Services
The development of proprietary Fund Administration Systems sets IFAA apart from its competitors. These systems are efficient in processing contributions from employers and allocating them to members of our clients. The system prepares reports for the benefit of employers, members and the Boards of our clients. Our IT Development team consists of an experienced group of Business Systems Analysts and Software Engineers responsible for the maintenance of existing processes and the integration of new legislation and product offerings.
HR
At IFAA, we recognise that administration is not just about technology, it's also about the people. We believe that we provide clients and their members with the best staff in the industry; staff who really care about the funds they administer. We place great importance on the ability of our staff to not only deal with customer service issues but to also appreciate and understand the context of the issue and solution choices available.
Our culture is typically defined as “friendly and flexible”. When IFAA employees are asked what it is they value about working at IFAA the typical response is the flexibility. Flexibility is shown in our strong commitment to work/life balance through flexible working practices such as job-sharing, part-time work, the ability to accrue time off and flexible hours. IFAA is also committed to the ongoing development of its employees and is aware that continual learning is imperative in maintaining our market competitiveness. On-the-job training, one-on-one coaching and external training are provided during the normal course of employment. In addition, we support superannuation and other relevant studies both financially and in the form of in-house tutorial support as well as time off for study and exams.
We are committed to coming together as a company to celebrate achievements, special events, and milestones with regular staff functions organised by the staff social club.
